WMYT was founded on the belief that the most extraordinary travel experiences are only possible when the places we visit remain extraordinary. That is why sustainability is not an add-on for us — it is embedded in every decision we make, from the partners we choose to the routes we design.
We are members of the Adventure Travel Trade Association and aligned with the UN World Tourism Organisation's guidelines for responsible tourism. We publish an annual sustainability report and actively review our policies against evolving best practices.

How we travel responsibly.
Carbon-Conscious Travel
We calculate carbon emissions for every itinerary and offer guests the option to offset their footprint through verified reforestation and clean-energy projects across South and Southeast Asia.
Community-First Tourism
We partner exclusively with locally owned properties, community-run restaurants, and independent artisan workshops. At least 70% of every booking fee stays within the local economy of the destination.
Ethical Wildlife Experiences
We categorically refuse to recommend venues that exploit animals. Our wildlife experiences support conservation — ethical elephant sanctuaries, marine research programmes, and protected forest expeditions only.
Responsible Heritage Access
We limit group sizes at sensitive heritage sites to protect their integrity. We work with archaeologists and site managers to ensure our visits contribute to conservation funding rather than eroding fragile monuments.
Low-Impact Stays
Our preferred properties are screened for sustainability credentials — solar energy use, water recycling, organic sourcing, plastic-free amenities, and fair employment practices for local staff.
Plastic-Free Journeys
Every WMYT guest receives a reusable water bottle and filter. We work with our hotel and transport partners to eliminate single-use plastics from every touchpoint of the guest journey.
